Welcome to The Nunnery: an accommodation option with a difference in historic Te Aroha. Te Aroha, with its mountain, its bush walks, its geyser, spa baths, open geothermal pool and stylish domain featuring Edwardian public architecture is a popular destination for tourists both local and overseas. The Nunnery is centrally located and within easy strolling distance both of the township and of all Te Aroha’s tourist attractions. Built in 1977 to house the Sisters of Mercy, it sits on a large, well-tended section. In converting it to guest accommodation, we have retained the simplicity of the building but have added all the mod-cons: air conditioning, A feature of the solid brick and tile building is the interior use of Rimu timber both in the trimmings and for the in-built furniture. Your hosts will be Paul Herbert and Denise Andersen, long-term residents of the Te Aroha region who bought The Nunnery from the Sisters of Mercy in November 2008 and converted it to its current use. The Nunnery offers a wheel chair friendly, fully independent studio unit, 3 double bedrooms and two single bedrooms all with wash basins. Travelling with a family or a group? Phone us to discuss how we can best accommodate you. We are versatile and can cater for almost any need. Tariff: $55-$95 The Nunnery,
